Plastic or poly bags (PB Bags) are widely used for conventional propagation, but often cause a high need for manual labour, poor root development, and issues with handling and waste management. Replacing a poly bag with degradable Ellepot Paper means growing with less growing media per plant, healthier plants with fibrous root systems, easy plant-out with reduced or even no transplant shock. Plant roots will penetrate the Ellepot Paper and air-prune, promoting extra root growth in the plant. In terms of irrigation, the rule of thumb when going from poly bags to Ellepot Paper is to water twice as often and half as much, this is due to plants in Ellepots taking up water from all sides of their pots, providing optimized water uptake and improved wet/dry cycles, with great air exchange into the media/rootzone.
